Tanzania Walking Safaris in Selous Game Reserve

Walking as accompanied by an armed Park Ranger, is allowed in Selous and is probably one of the best ways to enjoy the natural beauty and diversity of plant life of the area. Selous Game Reserve Walking Safaris offer exciting and exclusive walks based out of mobile fly camps through some of the most diverse and game rich habitats in the reserve. There are sections of magnificent grass plains, wetlands, swamps and dense forest. Each night is spent under the shaded canopy of a grove of ancient acacias in custom made fly-tents. In the 1980s Richard Bonham used Selous Game Reserve for his famous portered walking safaris, where at that time Selous was completely unknown to the world of tourism.

Accommodation can also be in lodges and tented camps. For fly camping lovers ( sleep out under the stars ) each tent is designed to give you an unbelievable view of the African starlit sky in such away that no one should not fall in love with it!!
