Hunting in Tanzania Selous Game Reserve

Selous Game Reserve is one of the best places for a hunting safari in East Africa. It is located in the southern part of the country and is the largest hunting conservancy in Tanzania with more than 44 hunting blocks. Even the name sends shivers of excitement up your spine. Selous is a place of legends, ancient traditions, dreams and mystery and is considered the ultimate hunting and adventure destination in East Africa. With a variety and an abundance of wildlife unmatched anywhere in the world, remote wilderness, vast landscapes, adrenalin rushes, memorable experiences and breathtaking scenery, there is no reason to look elsewhere. The area was first designated a protected area in 1896 by the German Governor Hermann von Wissmann and became a hunting reserve in 1905. The reserve covers a total area of 54,600 km² (21,081 square miles), has additional buffer zones where no permanent human habitation or permanent structures are permitted.
